The City of West Frankfort is pleased to announce that applications are now officially open for its new Residential Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Program. This initiative represents a significant step forward in the City’s ongoing efforts to strengthen neighborhoods, support homeowners, and encourage reinvestment in our community.

The Residential TIF Program is designed to assist property owners with improvements that enhance the value, safety, and appearance of their homes. By reinvesting a portion of the increased property tax revenue generated by these improvements, the City is able to partner directly with residents to make meaningful upgrades more accessible and affordable.

Eligible projects may include exterior repairs, structural improvements, roofing, accessibility upgrades, and other qualifying enhancements that contribute to neighborhood stability and long-term growth. The program is intended not only to benefit individual homeowners, but also to elevate property values and quality of life across the community.

“Strong neighborhoods are the foundation of a strong city,” said Mayor Tim Arview. “This program is about investing in our residents, encouraging pride in homeownership, and making it easier for families to improve and maintain their properties right here in West Frankfort.”

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, subject to funding availability. Property owners within eligible TIF districts are encouraged to apply early, as funds are limited.
